SLSA 2027: CALL FOR STREAM CONVENORS

We are pleased to open a call for new stream convenors across a number of existing SLSA streams. We are very grateful for the work that those convenors who are stepping down have done over the years and recognise the huge commitment that has gone into making their streams a success.

We have spaces for new convenors across the following streams for SLSA 2027:

  • Children's Rights

  • Constitutionalism in Developing Democracies

  • Empire, Colonialism and Law

  • Environmental Law

  • Family Law and Policy

  • Labour Law and Society

  • Law and Emotion

  • Law, Literature and the Humanities

  • Property, People, Power and Place

  • Sexual offences and Offending

  • Social Rights, Citizenship and the Welfare State

  • Socio-Legal Jurisprudence

See the our Streams page for details of all the above streams.

Convenors will have an initial term of 3 years (renewable for a further term of 3 years). If you require further information about one of the streams, please contact the existing convenors.

Stream convenors are responsible for advertising the call for papers for the Annual Conference as well as taking decisions on the submitted abstracts. They also work to organise the panels for the conference, communicate with presenters and organise chairing of the panels.

Stream convenors are expected to attend the SLSA Annual Conference in person. If a convenor is unable to attend, it is their responsibility to ensure panel chairs are in place (ie this is not the responsibility of the conference organisers).

Please see our Stream Convenor Policy for further details.

If you are interested in taking up one of these roles, please email Alex Powell (Stream Secretary) at alex.powell@warwick.ac.uk (cc admin@slsa.ac.uk) stating the stream you are applying for, as well as a short (max 1 page) cover letter and CV by Tuesday 22 September 2026.
