The British Academy, in partnership with Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), will host in Brazil a Knowledge Frontiers Symposium bringing together early-career researchers and policymakers from across the world. The symposium will take place in Mangaratiba, Brazil, from 21-22 January 2027.

A new UKRI programme will support local projects to prevent violence and abuse against women and girls. The Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Prevention Accelerator will build UK-wide capability to stop violence and abuse by funding and supporting promising grassroots initiatives.

These grants are for researchers based at universities or institutions of higher education, to undertake an innovative and original research project. The maximum grant value is £500,000.

This is a rolling scheme with three annual deadlines: 1 April, 1 September, 1 December.
