Events

The SLSA promotes socio-legal studies through a variety of events. Key to our activities is our popular and successful annual conference which appeals to members and non-members alike. The conference is hosted by a different UK academic institution every year. The first official SLSA conference was hosted by the University of Bristol and our 2013 venue is the York Law School. In addition, the SLSA sponsors occasional one-day conferences with themes of interest to our members.

From time to time the SLSA runs joint events with other like-minded organisations. The Socio-Legal Meeting in Berlin in 2007 was one such enterprise and the SLSA is delighted to be a partner organisation for the Law and Society Association's 2012 meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii.

We also run a free annual conference for postgraduates as part of our commitment to members of the socio-legal community starting out in their academic careers.

Many of our past annual conference sites are archived as are reports on past postgraduate conferences – please see the socio-legal events archive section.
