Leicester De Montfort Law School

The SLSA will be returning to Leicester in 2012 as the guest of Leicester De Montfort University Law School.

Second call for papers

The second call for papers is now open. If you have any queries about your proposed paper, please contact the relevant stream or theme organiser. Full details can be found on the conference website.

Registration and accommodation

Registration for the conference is now open. There is an early bird discount for bookings before 31 January 2012. Please follow the link to register. Accomodation is not included in the conference package, but rooms in Leicester at a range of prices are available to attendees at discounted rates. Please book via the conference website to access discounted rates.

Future hosts

The SLSA executive is seeking expressions of interest from universities wishing to host our annual conferences in subsequent years. The conference usually takes place during the Easter break each year. The criteria we have applied in the past are:

a strong local team of organisers, supported by their head of department
a venue capable of catering for approximately 300 delegates
overnight accommodation for about 200 people
a range of types of accommodation close to the conference venue
an accessible location
good quality seminar rooms within walking distance of each other
a central area suitable for registration, publishers’ stands and coffee.

In recent years local teams have often been supported by a university conference office or department. The SLSA Executive Committee is also able to provide support in the form of a conference sub-committee.
